New Hampshire Spring

In Northern New England, there's never a bad time to be outdoors. Time to put away the skis and snowboards and bring out the bikes and kayaks. Our real estate agents can't wait to be out in the warmer temperatures of spring, enjoying these wonderful spots for outdoor activities around Northern New England.

  • Morningside Flight Park - 357 Morningside Ln., Charlestown, NH 03603
If you could have one superpower, would you choose flying? Your dream can come true with a trip to Morningside Flight Park. The scenic Connecticut River Valley makes a breathtaking backdrop for solo or tandem hang gliding and paragliding. Aero-towing, which involves launching a glider by towing it behind a powered aircraft, is offered for qualified pilots. If you prefer your thrills a little less lofty, opt for ziplining or laser tag. Plan an extended getaway and spend the night (or two) camping, bunking in one of the charming platform cabins, or gazing out over the valley from The Castle. Visit the website for schedule and pricing.

  • Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves - 1712 Lost River Rd., North Woodstock, NH 03262
Explore the effects of nature on the New Hampshire landscape at Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves. Kinsman Notch in the White Mountains, where Lost River Gorge is located, began forming about three million years ago. View spectacular waterfalls, boulders, and rock walls as you travel along the one-mile boardwalk and inside 11 caves. Get a different perspective on the lantern tours, which begin at dusk. Kids love the mining sluice, where they can pan for gemstones, fossils, and other treasures. Lost River Gorge reopens for the season on Friday, May 5. Admission is $22 with advance purchase and $26 for walk-ins.

  • Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center - 1 Mount Washington Auto Rd., Gorham, NH 03581
Enjoy four seasons of fun at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center. After a winter of snow sports, the Mount Washington-based center transitions smoothly to warm-weather activities. Rent trail bikes or bring Fido along for a run or hike along 28 miles of trails around the White Mountains. Kayak tours are offered during the day for wildlife-spotting opportunities and at sunset for dramatic views. Spring schedule begins on Sunday, May 14, for weekends only and expands to daily on Sunday, June 11. There is no fee for use of the hiking and biking trails.

  • Alpine Adventures - 41 Main St., Lincoln, NH 03251
The Thrillsville zipline course at Alpine Adventures sprawls above Main Street in downtown Lincoln, but you'll feel as though you're miles away. This self-guided course includes challenging elements such as bridges, rope ladders, and a treehouse. Three levels progressively increase in difficulty, so complete each one successfully to move ahead. Guided tours take place in a more secluded area as an off-road vehicle transports you to a 300-acre aerial park on Barron Mountain. Experienced guides accompany you from the time you clip on the zipline to the time you clip off. Reservations are not required but highly recommended. Walk-ins are accommodated as space permits. Prices start at $39. Visit the website for schedule and availability.

  • Bear Rock Adventures - 2638 N. Main St., Pittsburg, NH 03592
Are you feeling the need ... the need for speed? Zip across more than 1,000 miles of trails in the Great North Woods on an OHRV (off-highway recreational vehicle) from Bear Rock Adventures. The company features pet-friendly 2- and 4-seat RZR XP 1000s from Polaris, one of the leading OHRV manufacturers. Experience up-close viewings of Granite Reliable Wind Farm, Beaver Brook Falls, Diamond Pond, and Lake Francis. Make the most of your time with a "Play & Stay" package that includes one to seven nights in a tent (ranging from rustic to glamping-style) or the cozy onsite lodge. Rental rates for the OHRVs start at $199 per hour for a 2-seater and $229 per hour for a 4-seater. Visit the website for reservations and more information about Play & Stay packages.

  • Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm - 58 Cleveland Hill Rd., Tamworth Village, NH 03886
Agriculture and science, along with the important roles they play in life in New Hampshire, are both on display at Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm. Over six generations and more than two centuries, members of the namesake family were active and vital in the local community. In addition to working their successful farm, the Remicks produced two physicians, Dr. Edwin Remick and his son, Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick. Today, visitors can "meet" the farm animals and stroll through the beautiful gardens, including the interactive Children's Garden. The two homes on the grounds serve as museums, with exhibits such as "Glimpse of a Country Doctor's Medical Practice" and "Tourism in Tamworth." Pack a lunch to enjoy at one of the picnic tables. Admission is a donation in an amount you choose, with fees charged for guided activities and tours. The museum and store are open year-round. Visit the website for information about seasonal farm hours.

Northern New England is truly a home for all seasons. Contact us at The Masiello Group for help with all your real estate needs.
